Faith's Garden

Intern Profile

I want to work at the garden because: I wanted to give to the community, and earn money for collage.

Two of my personal goals for working at the Dallas Youth Garden this summer are:

1. To grow strong and healthy food

2. To help out as much as I can.

Two things I hope to learn for working at the Dallas Youth Garden are:

1. To find out which plants are which so I can help my mom in her garden

2. Different ways to mulch and weed

I think my biggest challenge will be: keeping the weeds under control

My favorite vegetable or fruit is: Cucumbers.

I hope to contribute this to the garden this year: My upbeat personality

Garden Project/Problem Solved

Activity: Meeting with the people who provided our tomato cages

Thoughts: To be honest it was very scary, not that they were rude or anything, but it was speaking to them. Having a lot of different eyes on you when speaking can be very awkward, especially when these people are a very important group for our community, but in the end they were very kind, and very supportive, giving advice on how we should weed and advice for the future when speaking to a large group if we were to ever again.
